Education Network

Gamut Theatre Group would like to invite you to join our Education Network. The mission of our Education Network is to provide an interactive forum and resource for local educators in order to better serve educational initiatives and programming regarding classic stories. Educational Outreach is a cornerstone of our mission and comprises a large portion of our programming. Gamut’s  Educational Outreach Program enriches students and teachers not only by providing professional theatrical productions, but by engaging the educational community in interactive and empowering workshops and residencies designed to provide a better comprehension of classic themes and lessons.

Our Shakespeare Educational Outreach performances employ Gamut’s unique style of combining original text with modern “narrations” to bridge the most famous scenes from the play together into an easy-to-understand story, and include an interactive discussion with students after the show. Now through June 2015, we will be presenting  Shakespeare’s Hamlet as our Educational Outreach offering. Our children’s theatre group, The Popcorn Hat Players, tours four shows each season to local schools, daycares, libraries, and private events, to bring classic tales alive for both children and adults.

Membership in The Education Network is free and open to educators of all levels. We welcome your feedback regarding all of our educational programming, and we will keep you informed of events that will instruct and entertain both you and your students!

What We Offer

Each season Gamut's Harrisburg Shakespeare Company tours a work of William Shakespeare that is produced in an easy-to-understand way for students who may or may not be familiar with the work. Our Popcorn Hat Children's Theatre also tours shows appropriate for younger children. Our workshops pair well with touring shows or can be customized to accompany texts being taught in the classroom or for theater students.
