Free Shakespeare In The Park Rain Policy

We rarely cancel a performance of Free Shakespeare in the Park before showtime at 7:30 PM.  Our production crews head to Reservoir Park at 5:00 PM to begin setup for that evening's performance.  The earliest we would cancel a show is at 6:30 PM.  If that happens, we will post the cancellation on Facebook and on the home page of our website. In MOST cases we wait until showtime to make a decision.  June weather patterns are strange at Reservoir Park.  Sometimes the radar looks like we are going to get hit badly and then the weather veers to just north or south of us.  It's a weird phenomena.

Rain policy: If it's a light rain or drizzle, we continue with the show, but without microphones/sound amplification.  If the rain speeds up or if there is lightning and/or excessive wind, we will hold for up to 15-20 minutes to see if it will pass.  If it passes, we continue with the show.  If not, we cancel for the evening.

If you DO have the option of seeing the show tomorrow or Saturday, I highly recommend you make your plans for one of those evenings.  The weekend weather is going to be perfect (especially on Saturday, our Closing Night.)  Thank you for your ongoing support of our 23rd Annual Free Shakespeare in the Park!
