Bring a headshot (head and shoulders photo) and a resume.
Actors audition in groups of up to six in a 30-minute period and may be asked to stay an additional 30-60 minutes to read sides. Actors may be asked to attend callback auditions.
Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before scheduled audition time.
Please schedule an audition appointment to reserve your spot. See scheduling below.
AUDITION PROCEDURE
All auditions take place on the Select Medical Mainstage at Gamut Theatre. You will be auditioning on a 3/4 thrust stage in a 200-seat theatre. There are potentially 6 audition slots open for each half-hour audition time. Everyone signed up for the same time slot will go into the mainstage together as a group. Each actor will perform their audition. The group audition should not take longer than 30 minutes. Actors may then potentially be asked to read scenes with some of the other actors in your group, which could be an additional 30-60 minutes.

REHEARSALS
Gamut Theatre rehearsals generally occur weekday evenings and weekend afternoons or evenings. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. Please indicate what time you would be able to start rehearsing on weekdays and weekends on your AUDITION FORM.
If you have a pre-existing conflict that prevents you from attending any rehearsals, please indicate this on your AUDITION FORM. Please be honest and up-front regarding any conflicts you think you may have. Sometimes (but not always) we can schedule around things if we know the situation in advance.
Pride and Prejudice Character List
NOTE! The play as written has suggested doublings that we may or may not follow.
JANE: The eldest and most beautiful Bennet daughter. Kind, idealistic, accommodating. Always tries to do the right thing.
LIZZY: A year or two younger than Jane, whom she loves deeply. Clever, spirited; can be sharp-tongued. Prides herself on good judgment. If marriage looks like what her parents have endured, she’s not interested.
MARY: The third Bennet girl. Prone to pedanticism and sulking. A gothic Brontë character trapped in an Austen world. May fancy that she is dying.
LYDIA: The youngest Bennet. Lively, in love with fun, prone to imitating others’ behavior and eavesdropping. Has very little self-regulation of any kind.
MR. BENNET: The patriarch of the Bennet family. Finds amusement in absurdity; often looks for respectable escape from the chaos of his family life. Enjoys antagonizing others, especially his wife. Disappointed in marriage.
MRS. BENNET: The matriarch of the Bennet family. Mostly a silly woman, of mean understanding and variable temper. When she’s upset, she fancies that she’s dying. The business of her life is to get her daughters married.
CHARLOTTE: Same age as Lizzy. A practical girl with a good sense of humor and modest ambitions in life.
MR. COLLINS: Pedantic, obtuse, the original mansplainer. Rector to Lady Catherine. Obscenely grateful for her patronage.
WICKHAM: An unfairly handsome and charming man from humble beginnings. Probably a sociopath. Raised alongside Darcy.
MR. DARCY One of the richest men in England. Proper, well-educated, socially awkward. Prides himself on self-control and good judgment.
MR. BINGLEY: Loves the world and the world loves him. Mr. Darcy’s particular friend. Almost literally a dog.
MISS BINGLEY: A very rich, beautiful young woman. Fancies herself witty. Frustrated in her desire to make Mr. Darcy fall in love with her
LADY CATHERINE: Patrician Caesar-meets-drill sergeant. Very rich, very proper, very nosy.
MISS DE BOURGH: Lady Catherine’s daughter and a gremlin. Sickly. Cross. Probably allergic to sun.
