Popcorn Hat Players

ON TOUR, FIELD TRIPS & PRIVATE PARTIES

Each season the Popcorn Hat Players take two of their shows on tour! The Players are the perfect entertainment for daycare groups, school groups, and birthday parties! All shows performed by Popcorn Hat Players run 30-45 minutes in length, and are appropriate for preschool ages up to 6th grade. They are also great family shows, because parents and older brothers and sisters love the shows as much as the youngsters do!

And as a perfect companion to your tour, we also have workshops available!

Rapunzel

An old couple’s dream for a child comes true when Rapunzel is born! In true fairytale fashion, a Witch steals the child and locks her away in a tower. Will the Witch keep Rapunzel forever? How will the Prince rescue Rapunzel from the tower? What happens to the old couple?  The children from the audience use their own creativity to help tell this story and to make sure that everyone lives “happily ever after!”

Performances available by request Wednesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for groups of 20 or more.

Harrisburg Shakespeare Company
Educational Engagement Program

Each year Harrisburg Shakespeare Company produces a fast-paced, edited version of a Shakespeare play and tours it to middle and high schools for the entire school year. Each production is the original Shakespearean text with narrations added to make it easy for students and adults alike to understand.

Gamut Theatre Group also offers a variety of workshops at middle school through college levels.

2026 - 2027: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

“Is all our company here?” 

Harrisburg Shakespeare Company presents its highly acclaimed educational engagement production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This delightful Shakespearean comedy features fairies, young lovers and a crew of bumbling players trying to perform a play for the Duke’s wedding celebration. Puck sums it up best…

“Lord, what fools these mortals be!” 

 Recommended for ages 12 and up, this production is extremely accessible, employing HSC’s unique educational engagement style of combining Shakespeare’s original text with modern narrations to bridge the most famous scenes from the play together into an easy-to-understand story. This dynamic show is performed by seven professional actors, all of whom play multiple characters. The performance runs 75 minutes, and each performance is followed by a talk-back discussion with the audience.

Subject matter may not be interesting for students under 12.

The Educational Engagement Production is available on tour December 2026 - June 2027.

Auditoriums or open large spaces are preferred. Outdoor performances are available–extra fees apply.

TMI Improv Comedy Troupe

TMI performs monthly in-house shows at our Gamut home, and are also available for private functions, education workshops, corporate teamwork training, Little House on the Prairie conventions, and various social events. Available to tour to almost any venue! Tours range from 15 to 75 minutes long.
