PLAYS & COMPENSATION
Gamut Theatre Group will be holding general open auditions for Season 34. All roles are available and compensated for the following productions:
The Tempest by William Shakespeare
Directed by Diego Sandino
Performance Dates: October 3 – 18, 2026 | Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:30pm
Rehearsals begin July 27, 2026
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by Joseph Robinette
Based on the story by C.S. Lewis
Directed by Melissa Nicholson
Performance Dates: November 14 – December 6, 2026 | Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:30pm
Rehearsals begin August 29, 2026
Rehearsal and performance schedules for Tempest and LWW are arranged so that actors and production staff can be involved in both productions if desired.
Actors will receive a one-time stipend at the close of the show. Amount of stipend varies pending size of role. At this time, Gamut cannot provide housing accommodations for actors. Student actors are not compensated.
AUDITION DATES & LOCATION
Actors may choose between two dates for Open Auditions:
Sunday, June 7 starting at 3:00 PM
Tuesday, June 9 starting at 6:00 PM
Callbacks for THE TEMPEST will be Sunday, June 14 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM.
Callbacks for THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE will be Tuesday, June 16 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
Auditions will be held at Gamut Theatre Group, 15 N Fourth Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101. Street parking is free after 5:00 PM and all day Sunday. The auditions will take place in the Select Medical Mainstage at Gamut Theatre, a ¾ thrust stage with theatrical lighting.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Present one memorized classical monologue, 1 to 2 minutes in length. If auditioning for both The Tempest and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, you may provide a monologue for each if desired, but it is not required. Total audition package should be no more than 3 minutes. If auditioning for LWW only, you may present a classical or modern monologue.
Bring a headshot (head and shoulders photo) and a resume.
Actors audition in groups of up to six in a 30-minute period. Actors may be asked to attend callback auditions.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before scheduled audition time.
Bring a detailed schedule to fill out any potential rehearsal conflicts.
All auditions must be scheduled in advance; walk-ins are not accepted.
If auditioning for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, we are interested in any special skills you might have, including but not limited to: dance, juggling, magic, stage combat skills. Please list special skills with your audition materials and be prepared to demonstrate if asked.
If auditioning for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, please fill out the attached CONFLICT FORM and bring it with you to your audition.
If auditioning for The Tempest, please answer the questions regarding conflicts on your AUDITION FORM found at the bottom of this page. Please be honest and accurate regarding any conflicts you think you might have.
